Dr Jeanne Ng is currently the Executive Manager of Sustainability at the Hong Kong Jockey Club, where she is responsible for the organization\u2019s club-wide sustainability strategy and reporting.<\/p>\n

She holds a BSc in Toxicology from the University of Toronto and a PhD in Environmental Management from the University of Hong Kong. Prior to 2002, she had accumulated a decade of extensive experience in the environmental industry, holding senior roles in international environmental \/ engineering consulting companies in their Hong Kong operations. She was involved in most of the early Hong Kong governmental air pollution and climate strategy and policy studies and was regarded as one of Hong Kong’s experts in air and greenhouse gas emissions inventories. <\/p>\n

She joined CLP in 2003 and was involved in starting up Group Environmental Affairs, Group Sustainability and the CLP Research Institute. She led the development of the governance processes, ESG database and sustainability reporting process behind CLP\u2019s international award-winning Sustainability Report and helped to set up CLP Group\u2019s first ever: renewable energy targets, Climate Vision 2050 carbon reduction targets and CLP\u2019s Sustainable Development 2030 targets. Her last achievement at CLP was setting up the new CLP Research Institute to focus on informing the C-suite and senior management, as well as colleagues across the Group, on emerging trends and technologies to enhance CLP\u2019s capabilities in decision-making in business strategy, planning and operations, so it can evolve towards becoming a utility of the net zero carbon future.<\/p>\n

In 2022, she became the Chief Sustainability Officer at BlueOnion Limited, an ESG fintech start-up company currently developing an ESG data analytics platform and services aimed at servicing both buy-side and sell-side investors. This most recent experience has provided her with further insight into the startup world, as well as new knowledge on how the finance world is currently approaching sustainability, prior to her arrival at the Hong Kong Jockey Club.<\/p>\n

Dr Ng has been a frequent guest lecturer on environmental, corporate sustainability and ESG at various Hong Kong universities and was an Adjunct Professor at the Division of Environment at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). <\/p>\n

She is the Founding Chair of the Hong Kong Institute of Qualified Environmental Professionals (HKIQEP), which was formed to support the development of the environmental professional industry in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area. The HKIQEP officially became a regularised professional body under the Hong Kong Ordinance CAP1183 on 4 November 2024.<\/p>\n

Internationally, she is currently also a member of the Prince\u2019s Accounting for Sustainability Project (A4S) Expert Panel. She was previously a Board member of the Air & Waste Management Association (AWMA) and the International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC), as well as a member of the Advisory Council of the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), the Stakeholder Council of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and the Project Advisory Panel for Emerging Forms of External Reporting under the International Auditing & Assurance Standards Board (IAASB).<\/p>\n
