class=\"elementor-text-editor elementor-clearfix\"><p><strong>HKU SLG Students Engaged in Coastal Conservation and Dialogue with Experts at Pak Nai<\/strong><\/p><p>In an immersive start to the second semester, our SLGP students took the initiative and participated in a field trip to Pak Nai in partnership with <strong>The Nature Conservancy<\/strong>. The visit provided a unique opportunity to integrate classroom learning with hands-on conservation work and stakeholder engagement.<\/p><p>Throughout the day, students were engaged in:<\/p><ul><li><strong>Field-based observations<\/strong> of coastal ecosystems and local oyster breeding practices<\/li><li><strong>Hands-on conservation work<\/strong>, including the removal of invasive Spartina grass<\/li><li><strong>Guided discussions<\/strong> on ecological impacts and community relationships<\/li><li><strong>Policy evaluation sessions<\/strong> focusing on the Northern Metropolis development and its environmental implications<\/li><\/ul><p>This student-led initiative facilitated meaningful dialogue between participants and conservation experts, bridging academic knowledge with on-the-ground practice. Such experiences are central to our programme\u2019s commitment to empowering students to become thoughtful and engaged leaders in sustainability, policy, and community
