INTERVIEW PROCESS
All applications pass through a staged admission process:
First screening: the first stage involves the screening of application materials and the alignment with the University criteria, as well as a review of the Personal Statement. This statement gives the reviewers a sense of why the applicant is interested in the programme, and whether they have given due consideration of how this programme will help them achieve their career goals. The English comprehension score is also reviewed as there will be considerable demand on language comprehension.
Interview: shortlisted candidates are invited to an interview to gauge their motivation and understanding of the field, their communication skills as well as their capacity for critical thinking. In a particular year, approximately a hundred candidates are interviewed for roughly 70-80 places, divided between full time and part time.
Applicants come from a variety of backgrounds, ranging from some young achievers with a few years of work experience, to middle-level managers with more extensive work experience, to professionals in the field wishing to expand their skill set. This is to improve the knowledge pool amongst the students and to ensure that students possess sufficient background understanding of organizational functions and terminology, as well as a functional understanding of organizational governance.
