Special topics in executing sustainability strategies

Introduction

This course will be provided as a unique and separate experience tapping into suitable opportunities to explore special areas of interest and new and emerging topics in the field. This will be undertaken in various ways from field experiences to invited guests from the region or from overseas who are experts on a particular issue, research area or new development in sustainability.  The aim is to either focus on a specific topic of current relevance or to have a practical experience that allows for the consolidation / synthesis of learning. Examples of topics that may be covered include: current issues of energy transition to renewables; field experience on food security; site visits to witness the direct dependencies of livelihoods on local environmental resources; expert instructors on a relevant issue such as design for sustainability, circular economy, community investment programs, among others.
