This course is dedicated to equipping students’ concepts and skills of different sustainability related management systems. Emphasis will be placed on practical approaches to improving environmental performance over time across organizational functions to increase organizations’ resilience under the rapid changing climate and in meeting their environmental goals.

The course curriculum will explore the fundamental aspects of environmental management and auditing, greenhouse gases accounting (carbon auditing), and carbon management and environmental target setting as tools to drive meaningful progress towards a low-carbon, sustainable future. Through a comprehensive exploration of decarbonization and net zero targets, students will be empowered to spearhead impactful environmental initiatives within their respective fields and organizations.

Combining conceptual explanations, practical approaches and a site visit, students will gain a better understanding of the rationale behind the adoption of different sustainable management and assessment tools and acquire the skills of applying these tools to within real world corporate contexts.
