Ir Sophia Lau has been working in Environmental field for over 20 years. As a Chartered Environmental Engineer, she has been heavily involved in large EIA projects and played a key role in delivering green solutions on behalf of contractors in Hong Kong. After serving construction industry for 7 years, Ir Lau joined Cathay Pacific Airways and Airport Authority Hong Kong leading various ESG/Sustainability projects. Having spent over 15 years at the Hong Kong International Airport on operation and expansion projects, Ir Lau became a construction and aviation sustainability expert.

Ir Lau completed ISO 14001 lead auditor course and she is also a certified carbon auditor. Over the years, she conducted ISO14001 / carbon audits for over 50 companies in Hong Kong and assisted companies in the development of carbon reduction plan and carbon target setting. With her passion in building a sustainable world, she has been recently devoted herself in providing trainings to corporates and nurturing the future generations. Being the founder of ASEL Environmental Consulting Company Limited, she is currently teaching at HKIA Aviation Academy and providing training courses at Business Environmental Council. Since 2017, she has been appointed by the University of Hong Kong as Honorary Lecturer for Master Degree in Environmental Management.
