Ms. Chan Erica

"I had always felt the urgent need for climate action and believed that corporate and societal change has to play a major role for a true paradigm shift to occur. As such, I wanted to understand and explore the role that I could play in the corporate setting regarding sustainability, and this programme provided a very comprehensive range of topics that really helped me understand the corporate sustainability landscape and ultimately led me to my current role as a Climate & Sustainability / ESG Consultant."

Alumni Profile

My passion and concern for climate change led me to my undergraduate studies in geology. The desire to take my career further into sustainability led me to this programme that gave me not just practical knowledge, but also a dynamic and zealous cohort that still to this day exchange knowledge and ideas while supporting each other on our paths towards embedding sustainability ideals in our lives and careers.

As a person with an earth science background, knowledge about earth systems and their causes and effects was something that had always fascinated me, and the impact of climate change is inevitably a topic that is intrinsically entangled in these learnings and research. I had always felt the urgent need for climate action and believed that corporate and societal change has to play a major role for a true paradigm shift to occur. As a nascent industry in Hong Kong, I found the programme learnings and practitioner insights very helpful in my daily work, and the knowledge and communication skills I have gained from working with my multidisciplinary and international cohort have also proved invaluable. We were given plenty of opportunities to develop and present our work and projects, and I have enjoyed the many constructive discussions and conversations throughout the intense year on this programme. I continue to be inspired by my classmates, and I would encourage anyone who wants to make an impact and meet like-minded individuals to consider this programme as the next step in their sustainability journey.
