If you need to arrange an early check-in or late check-out, please notify staff before 17:00 on the previous day.
    What is the campsite capacity?

The campsite has 9 large camping platforms (accommodating 2–4 people each) and 4 small camping platforms (accommodating 1–2 people each), with a maximum capacity of 30 campers per night.

How is the mobile network reception at the campsite?

Mobile phone and internet signals in Mui Tsz Lam and nearby areas may be unstable, and reception is not guaranteed. In case of emergency, please try dialling 999 / 112 on your mobile phone for assistance.

Wi-Fi is not available at the campsite, allowing campers to fully immerse themselves in nature.

    How can meals be arranged?

Campers may bring their own ingredients and enjoy outdoor cooking at the campsite. Alternatively, meals are available at Lai Chi Wo (approximately 20 minutes on foot) and Kop Tong Village (approximately 15 minutes on foot).

Please note that the opening hours of village shops and eateries vary. Some only operate during afternoons on public holidays. Campers are advised to confirm opening arrangements in advance.

What happens in case of severe weather?

Severe Weather Before Check-in (Before 7AM)

If the Hong Kong Observatory has issued a Yellow / Red / Black Rainstorm Warning Signal, or Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 3 or above by 7AM on the check-in day, the booking for that day will be cancelled.

If the Hong Kong Observatory announces before 7AM that a Red / Black Rainstorm Warning Signal or Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 3 or above is expected within the next few hours, staff from the Association for Sha Tau Kok Culture and Ecology will make the final decision at 7AM and notify participants accordingly.

Under the above circumstances, groups may apply once for rescheduling free of charge within seven days from the original booking date (the new booking must be within 6 months of the original date).

If rescheduling is not requested, 90% of the fees paid will be refunded (with 10% deducted as an administrative fee). Failure to respond within the specified period will be regarded as forfeiture of the refund arrangement.

If the Hong Kong Observatory issues a Very Hot Weather Warning or Cold Weather Warning by 7AM on the check-in day, the campsite will remain open as usual. This arrangement also applies if such warnings are issued after campers have checked in.

    Severe Weather After Check-in

If Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 3 or above is issued after check-in, campers will be arranged to leave the campsite as soon as possible.

If Yellow / Red / Black Rainstorm Warning Signals are issued after check-in, campers may be arranged to temporarily shelter in a safe location depending on actual conditions. If conditions worsen, campers will be arranged to leave when it is safe to do so.

No refunds will be provided under the above circumstances.

If the campsite is closed due to other reasons or severe weather conditions, staff from the Association for Sha Tau Kok Culture and Ecology will notify the group by or before 7AM. Groups may apply once for rescheduling free of charge within seven days from the original booking date (the new booking must be within 6 months of the original date).

If rescheduling is not requested, 90% of the fees paid will be refunded (with 10% deducted as an administrative fee). Failure to respond within the specified period will be regarded as forfeiture of the refund arrangement.

Updates regarding campsite arrangements will be announced through the “Forest Village” Facebook and Instagram Stories. Group organizers are responsible for checking the latest updates.

In the event of any disputes regarding severe weather arrangements, the Association for Sha Tau Kok Culture and Ecology reserves the right of final decision.
