This taster lecture examines sustainability
challenges—systemic interdependencies, policy inertia, and governance
gaps—alongside climate attitudes and policy preferences in relation to the role
of fossil fuel investments in carbon removal technologies. It analyses how
different climate narratives influence public support for transition policies,
revealing tensions between technological optimism and climate urgency in
regulatory frameworks amid sustainability transition.
