Design Thinking is a cognitive and collaborative approach to problem-solving and a trust-building process among social innovators (otherwise known as sustainability catalyzers in the SISC programme). Collaborating with local/international innovation accelerators, the Design Thinking process could facilitate potential social entrepreneurs to explore socio-environmental problems and hidden resources, and to create prototypes and generate sustainability innovations collectively to achieve greater impact.
Design Thinking is conducted in the format of intensive weekend workshops, where participants will go through a series of problem decomposition/re-composition process, intensive skills training and mentoring sessions for inspiring them to develop their own business models that address social sustainability issues.
Experts and advocates will be invited to provide support at the Design Thinking Workshops. The participants can learn from researchers, successful business developers, and/or innovators as inspirers/ideas boosters for further developing their own innovations.
The three-day Sustainability Thinking Workshop will guide you to explore and identify socio-environmental challenges, to discover and leverage underutilised resources for problem-solving, and to prototype and generate innovative solutions to address to sustainability challenges through a slew of tailor-made and diverse incubation activities! Selected teams/participants will be invited for a Pitching Session to be held on 12 December 2020 (Saturday), awarding up to HK$100,000 for start-up schemes or HK$200,000 for the scale-up schemes to kick-start your sustainability projects and create a sustainable society in Hong Kong.
