Overview

The conventional evaluation of programme effectiveness is usually based on the direct outcomes of programme activities. Examples of usual indicators are: the area of habitat conserved, the number of species observed, the participants’ self-reported level of satisfaction and knowledge gained etc.

The Forest Village programme aims to take one step further to look into the real impacts brought by programme activities with two studies: Ecosystem Services Review and Rural Stewardship Study.

The studies could show a more comprehensive picture of the value of conservation efforts. The impacts will also be more relatable to the general public and thus foster better commitment on conservation of natural, cultural and landscape values of rural villages.
