Background and Introduction

Zhuqi Township, home to approximately 24,000 people in a rural setting, faces challenges such as an aging population and economic disparities. The “Enhancing Zhuqi Township through Public Discussions” project aims to foster sustainable growth in Zhuqi Township, Taiwan, through citizen discussions and collaborative budgeting decisions. Led by Ya-Hsuan Tsai, an experienced leader in social responsibility, and a diverse team of experts, the project includes an inclusive platform for widespread community participation and collaboration, with a focus on collaborative governance and empowering youth voices.

Despite not receiving AIRI’s seed grant, the project has secured alternative funding sources to support local experts, involve the community, organize events, and address project needs for tangible impact. The goal is to contribute to broader discussions on policies and research, collaborating with diverse groups for a brighter future.
