Members: Chen Yun-Cheng, Li Hua-Syuan

Background and Introduction

Situated at the intersection of Daxi Fishing Harbor in Toucheng, Yilan, and the captivating Turtle Island, the project responds to the pressing challenges posed by the surge in marine recreational activities within Taiwan’s waters. Notably, the adverse environmental impacts, exemplified by the proliferation of whale-watching boats and their consequences on marine ecosystems, underscore the urgency of implementing sustainable practices in the region.

The objectives of this project include raising public awareness of coastal village culture, improving tourism experiences, and promoting sustainable development in island communities. The project emphasizes community involvement and stakeholder engagement, with active participation from the residents of Turtle Island community and the establishment of a Seaside Village Revitalization Information Station. The project also focuses on sustainability by integrating local services into an information platform and reinvesting profits into local teams and organizations. Anticipated advertising revenue will support the project’s scalability and replication, promoting the diffusion of technological and experiential benefits in information systems and development models.
