Background and Introduction
Situated in Yixing Village, Jianshi Township, Hsinchu County, Taiwan, spanning 12.23 square kilometers along the Yulu River, the project addresses complex sustainability challenges. These include ecological issues arising from tourism and agriculture, the imperative need for cultural preservation, and the consequential departure of local youth seeking educational and professional opportunities.
The Mkmatuy Sustainability Plan focuses on cultural experiences to foster economic growth and tourism within the community. Key project actions encompass a partnership with NTHU for cultural investigations and experiential activities, collaborating with the Ten-Miles-Around Cooperative to jointly promote cultural experiences, and engaging local elementary schools to instill a sense of local identity among students. These actions contribute significantly to the long-term sustainability of the project. Stakeholder engagement is a central aspect, with plans to involve external organizations and schools in the future.

Proposed Project Actions and Deliverables
- Collaborate with professors and students from NTHU to conduct field investigations, learn, and document local traditional skills.
