A Pearl Treasure
This project focuses on sustainable revitalisation of maritime culture of local fishing villages. It aims to cooperate with local fishermen, to develop a prototype of sustainable seafood production by revitalising the old and idle fishing rafts located in Sam Mun Tsai using innovative technology. The modernised raft could increase the survival rate of the seafood. It also serves as an ecological education platform to promote local fisheries products and culture.
The project also provides ecological education programmes and fisherfolk culture experiencial activities to the public to raise the awareness of the sustainability of local fisheries in Hong Kong.
