Introduction to Collaborative Governance

Session 7: Concluding Remarks

This e-study helps to demonstrate the ways in which the Collaborative Governance Framework can be adopted to systematically analyse suitable case studies. This allows one to conduct consistent and structured comparisons across cases.  The major components in the framework, including general system context and drivers (Session 2); principled engagement, shared motivation and capacity for joint action (Session 3); and collaboration actions, impacts and adaption (Session 4) can be used as variables to compare and research among different cases.

Furthermore, given the suitability of applying a collaborative approach to rural revitalisation as demonstrated in the case studies above, this model can be further replicated and applied to rural communities. This will enhance the vibrancy of rural communities and promote urban-rural symbiosis which are fundamental to the sustainability of the wider society.
